Hope you guys enjoyed your long weekend! Now it’s time to get down to business — I just recently discovered that I have a book of my own:

Haha kidding! This isn’t my book, but whoever wrote it must be a cool dude to have that name ;)
Derek Philip Hough’s book was published in 1997 and displays his view on evolution and Darwinism. If you’re interested in evolution and like to explore different theories, then check it out.
If I wrote a book, what do you think it would be about?

That "Variety is the spice of life". You have so many interest in life <danceing, music, art, photographs, beach, running, family, friends and now a companion(Romey)and probably more. You seem to always find new interest. People take note don't be bored go find new things in life to do. -
I think if you wrote a book Derek, it would be about your life and how from be a kid to where you are now. Autobiography. -

Someone with the exact same name as me has a book as well...it's a funny feeling.
However, I do agree with the masses here...you definitely should write your own memoir about all of you life and dance experiences, from London to DWTS -
"Behind HER dancing shoes" - since you are a ladies' man ( being close to your sister) plus with all the dancing partners. I think it would all be about how a man's view, a man's perspective on how it is to be with all girls most of the time how to handle them good or bad times. -
I think your book would be about ballroom dancing or maybe about what it is like to be on Dancing with the Stars. -
Very interesting topic. A 63 year old retired Canadian man who follows your career and yes votes for you on DWTS. Cannot wait for your movie in 3D to be released and now to suggest a book topic. I feel there are a few in you; relationship's and the quickie divorce. Speaking to your DWTS partnerships, artistic journey with your best friends Mark and Julianne (the good ,the bad, the commitment), guiding principles of a life lived with passion, life in a media spotlight and how to handle it with class and humility. There are more but will stop here. Good luck in this your final DWTS season and your future projects. -
Wow, how crazy is that!
I definitely think you should write a memoir-- something about your amazing life that highlights all of your talents, how you became so Successful, what your values are and where it all got started!! From music to dancing... And I'm sure there's much more!
I own a literary group called NyreePress and I'd love to help, if you are interested! Http://NyreePress.com
I'll cheer you on, as much as I cheer for you when you're dancing!
Do it! Do it! Do it!!!! ;)
Sincerely,

I think a "tell all" DWTS would be a must! Not about relationships, but about the evolution of the show... the dances are so much more complicated now than when the show first started...
what is the evolution like? How much input do you (and the other "regulars" have? I know that there was some tense moments last year... how does that play out behind the scenes? Not getting personal, but how do the judges factor your expertise into the equation? Just some thoughts..
and don't forget to mention your band (which I liked, by the way)... -
Fascinating subject!Drafted into the word of dancing since childhood, college was not in Derek's plans-but he somehow managed to be cultured & articulate. He's also witty & a good conversationalist, with a sophisticated travel and cultural background. He could write a book on a myriad of topics, & we all would be interested in reading it.Because of his dancing discipline, he's compulsively dedicated & goal oriented, so he could easily write a book on hiatus-if he has some free time, which I doubt.Maybe he could keep a candid diary and publish it-wouldn't we love that!I'd be interested in knowing how he goes about in creating those awesome choreographies. It obviously is a tortured process, as we've seen in rehearsals.Where'do his ideas come from? What's his muse? How does someone so young get amateurs(and pro's) to do such amazing dance poetry??How does he translate the music to dancesteps, and ends up with something glorious? The book could be called Explaining the (Hough) Magic, Secrets of Dance Creation. -

I recently read about how arts make people happier!!... So you shoud write about how dancing helped you to be a better person! -
